Canopy fabric
190T polyester and pongee are common discussion options; selected lower-cost 170T options have also been reported by the owner. A label such as “190T” or “pongee” is not a complete fabric specification.
Ask for fibre composition, construction, weight, finish, colour reference and the intended print method. Check the printed sample before approving colour and appearance.
Frame and handle
Reported frame options include steel, aluminium, carbon fibre, fibreglass and resin components. Handle options include wood, ABS, silicone and rubber-coated finishes. The exact combination depends on the construction.
Specify which component uses which material. Do not infer a wind rating, recycled content or durability guarantee from a material name.
Environmental requirements
Put the required composition, recycled-content percentage, certification scope and traceability documents in your brief. Ask which evidence applies to the actual material and proposed order before using an environmental claim.
Goodpartner’s green brand colour is a design choice. It does not establish that every umbrella or component is environmentally certified.
Testing and approval
Share the destination market and buyer test protocol. Ask whether an existing report covers the selected material and configuration or whether new testing is needed. Use the quality review checklist when preparing sample approval.
